My name is Yvonne McEachron, I am the founder of layered. design, LLC. After years of education, work, and some life experience, I finally decided to listen to the voices in my head (figuratively) and step out on my own. Styling, in every essence of the word, has always been my niche. I have an eye for putting things together and I truly believe that it is all in the details.
I have lived in New York State my entire life. I have been extremely fortunate to experience it in its entirety; from my childhood, suburban life on Long Island, to the serene country life of Upstate, followed by the wondrous world of NYC.
I earned my BBA in marketing from Pace University, certificate in wedding planning from US Event Guide, & my AAS in fashion merchandise management from The Fashion Institute of Technology.
I was able to sharpen my business skills while working in the fields of marketing research, advertising sales, and brand development. I honed in on my styling and design skills through continuing my education at FIT. During which time I worked with a stylist on editorials and fashion shoots. I freelanced for a showroom, working with buyers and designers, as well as working the fashion-driven ENK trade shows.
In 2012 my husband and I got married in Bermuda. Partially due to budget, but mainly because I am a little bit of a control freak (eek), I decided to do all the planning from New York, and really fell in love with the entire process. This helped solidify my business plan and I knew I wanted to help others bring their vision to fruition.
My previous work as a visual merchandiser is where I was really able to utilize my creativity and gain experience in both styling and decorating. As a merchandiser you focus on the placement, color, and fabric of products in order to design a space that ultimately works together in a harmonious manner. I am able to utilize this experience across the board; whether I am working with someone’s home, wardrobe, or wedding.
I implore you to come on this journey with me…..I promise it will be worth it!
